What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu is the copper-bound form of the tripeptide Gly-His-Lys. In cosmetic terminology it is commonly associated with Copper Tripeptide-1.
The broader research literature has investigated GHK-Cu in relation to extracellular-matrix biology, tissue signaling and skin biology. Hair-specific research is newer and much less extensive.
Reading the label: 2,400 mg at 4%
Defined strength. Each 60 mL bottle is formulated to contain 2,400 mg of GHK-Cu at 4%.
Simple vehicle. The formula uses distilled water as the base instead of oils, fragrance or a long list of supporting actives.
Recent lot testing. A recent Qalitex-tested lot (DK25-CPH1-9) measured 2,533 mg GHK-Cu by HPLC against a specification of 2,400 mg per bottle. That result applies to the tested lot; the labeled strength stays 2,400 mg.
Limitations
GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide studied across skin, tissue and emerging hair-related research. Hair-specific human evidence is still limited.
A small randomized 2026 study tested a different 2% topical GHK-Cu serum on the eyebrows of 18 adults for 12 weeks and reported improvements in eyebrow hair count and diameter. That is useful human evidence, but it did not test scalp hair or this 4% formula.
A separate human study evaluated GHK together with 5-aminolevulinic acid in men who have pattern hair loss. Because that was a combination treatment, the findings cannot be attributed to GHK alone or transferred directly to this finished serum. PubMed
Another frequently cited copper-peptide hair study tested AHK-Cu, not GHK-Cu. It found hair-follicle elongation ex vivo and dermal papilla effects in vitro, but AHK-Cu is a different peptide and that study was not a human clinical trial of this product. PubMed
Ingredient research can explain why GHK-Cu is of interest, but it does not prove that this finished serum will produce a specific amount of hair growth. This serum is made to support the appearance of fuller, healthier-looking hair and a conditioned scalp. It is a cosmetic, not a treatment for androgenetic alopecia or another medical cause of hair loss.
