Apigenin supplements can come in the form of capsules or tablets and are made from a natural flavonoid found throughout the plant kingdom but are most concentrated in parsley and chamomile. Apigenin has been studied for its potential health benefits, including its ability to promote relaxation and healthy sleep patterns. 

There is some promising research to suggest that high apigenin doses can help with sleep. In human studies, participants who took apigenin supplements were observed to have an increase in total sleep time and reported an improvement in overall sleep quality [3,4].

Apigenin is a naturally occurring compound famous for its calming and sleepy effects in chamomile tea.

As a flavinoid, it has been shown to have a variety of other potential wellness benefits, too, including supporting healthy inflammation and antioxidant properties that may help to protect cells from free radical damage. 

Apigenin side effects are typically rare, as the compound is generally safe when taken in recommended doses. Some of the apigenin side effects may include: 

• Digestive upset
• Headaches 
• Dizziness

The apigenin dosages will depend on the product and the individual. However, the most common apigenin dosages falls between 50–200 mg per day.
